Rescue & Adoption

Loving Home Rescue and Adoption is a non-profit 501.3c, NO KILL animal rescue where the life of every animal that crosses our path is important to us. Located in the Upstate’s Fountain Inn, South Carolina, our rescue relies entirely on donations, which are CRITICAL in our efforts to rescue animals from euthanasia, abuse, neglect, and overpopulation.

In Loving Memory...

Worrie...

Worrie came from a large family with kids- that like a lot of families this last year had to downsize and with her liver problems and her being seventeen, the family couldn’t afford to take care of her and didn’t want to put her down, so they brought her to Loving Home to live her life out.

When Worrie came in she always sat at the gate in the morning and when people came to adopt, she would go sit in her chair like she didn’t care if they picked her.

She had her chair she stayed in and would go out and walk up in the big field each day. Warm sunny days were good for her arthritis, which she took medication for but she loved the sun… and it was one of those sunny days. We will miss him

Ladie...

Ladie was an abused golden chow. Someone found her chained to a tree in a field. She had food, water and a wood box to go in, so animal control said that met their “requirements”.

Late one night she showed up at our gate, we saw the twenty pound logging chain was tight on her neck. The next morning we took her to the vet and two days and eighteen hours of surgery later, they were able to get the chain out of her neck.

She liked ladies and kids, but just to be petted. She did not like to held or wear a collar. She, like others, was a resident at Loving Home and was not to be adopted.  This was her home  She will be Sadly missed

Schotzie...

Schotzie was a loyal companion to Mr. & Mrs. Lackey for twelve years. When Mrs. Lackey died, Mr. Lackey and Schotzie carried on for the next five years without her. Both Schotzie and Mr. Lackey had medical problems and when Mr. Lackey had a stroke and had to go to a nursing home, Schotzie came to Loving Home with the promise to let him live out his natural life.

Shotzie was old, but made friends and had two young lady dogs, Levi and Prancer, who from day one cared for him. They groomed Shotzie until the day they became mothers, so now Schotzie was going to return the favor.

Shotzie was now a Grandfather and he was rejuvenated and had a new lease on life! When the mother dogs would leave their doggy beds, Shotzie would take over and snuggle with the puppies… Everybody will miss him

Happy...

Happy came to from another rescue that took care of cats and she didn’t fit the bill. She was seventeen and she, as most dogs her age, had arthritis that she took medication for. But she had heartworms and bad kidneys from the medicine.

She wasn’t in any pain- she just had to have a special diet. But we still had the problem with heartworms. The meds were working, but at what cost to her? So we stopped the treatment to let her live on without damaging her kidneys. Happy like all the other older dogs liked to go on the hill and lay in the sun. She is surely missed.
